Canopy Removal

Montgomery Advertiser reported on the Belk Building's arched canopies being removed. With the street closed off, the concrete canopies were lifted off of their columns using a crane. The newly liberated facade will soon be remodeled to include windows for apartments on the second floor.

To help identify the Market District, bright red banners were hung on many of the building on Lower Dexter Avenue. The banners sported the logo of the district which includes a silhouette of the Court Square Fountain. reported on the activity at the Market District Press Conference.

Golson Foshee Speaking @ Press Conference

The Montgomery Advertiser reported on Golson Foshee introducing the Market District at the press conference held on Dexter Avenue. Behind Golson are renderings depicting the family friendly environment the District will achieve.

For Lease Sign

As a part of the announcement of the Market District, Foshee Design & Construction installed leasing signs on many of the available buildings. Quirky phrases were included on the signs to reference different aspects of the Market District. The photo was included in the report by local tv station WSFA.

Billboard Teaser

February 12th

To begin creating interest in the upcoming announcement of the Market District, Foshee Management Company ran a series of riddles on a downtown billboard. Each of the riddles hinted as to what the company might be announcing. Montgomery Advertiser wrote an article about the perplexing advertisements.
